I adapted a famous poem to indicate my alarm at current political events.



First he came for the Mexicans
And I did not speak out
Because I was not Mexican

Then he came for the Muslims
And I did not speak out
Because it was far away

Then he came for the journalists
And I did not speak out
Because it just seemed like a joke

Then he came for the children
And I began to worry
Because it sounded inhumane

Then he came for the gay, bi and trans people
And I got upset
Because it affected people I care about

Then he came for the disabled people
And I got terrified
Because we've seen this happen before

Soon he's coming to Denmark
And I will speak out
Because it is on all of us

I will not accept the things I can change
I will change the things I cannot accept
I will speak out now
